Marietta was born in California on the 14th of May, 1990. Her parents had met whilst her father had been travelling as a performer, his most impressive skill juggling with fire and fire eating. Her mother was an art teacher who had grown up in France and was studying in America. Both her parents were very creative people and growing up Marietta was very much the same although her true passion was gymnastics. Starting from the age of seven she attended classes and clubs to help her improve, occasionally doing competitions which has caused her to have a very competitive nature. She also had a love of sports in general and is a very active person. She's very agile and can move swiftly and easily, not often prone to clumsiness. Marietta is a skilled climber, often sitting high up in tree tops or on roofs of buildings. Her parents say this is why they weren't surprised that her animorph form is that of a Squirrel Monkey.
Her mother was a human who'd never so much as heard of Tully whilst her father was an animorph, his parents having fled the island not long after they'd been married, wanting to start a family somewhere safer. Her mother learnt the truth not long after they'd met and always seemed okay with it. Her fathernever felt the need to go visit Tully, finding other places more interesting, but growing up Marietta heard all the stories about the island and desperately wanted to go and see it for herself, not wanting to find herself stuck in once place for the rest of her life.
She went to university in England as, much like her father, she loved to travel around, and studied a teaching course so that she could go on to teach Physical Education. Finishing university at 21, she took a year out to go to France to visit the places her mother had grown up and practice her French. Her mother had taught her to speak the language since she was little and they often spoke it when talking to each other meaning that she had become quite fluent but had never had much opportunity to use it outside of her home.
On her 22nd birthday, Marietta returned home only to find herself quickly growing restless. It was then she decided to move to Tully, getting a teaching job at the high school there and a small apartment near the centre of town. Her parents didn't expect her to stay there long, she tends to be quite fickle and is quick to change her mind but so far, a year later, she's still here.
As a person Marietta is quite loud and talks quickly, sometimes having to slow herself down so people can understand what she is saying. She's not a strict teacher, often letting her students get away with all sorts of mischief which has landed her in trouble before. Not the most organised person either, Marietta has a tendency to be late where ever she goes and both her apartment and office are a mess of clutter with post-it notes stuck everywhere to remind her of different things she needs to do.
Sitting still has never been a skill Marietta could accomplish and she is constantly doing something, much unlike her mother who was quite happy to sit in the same position for hours on end reading. She's often told she takes after her father more, although both Marietta and her mother share a passion for art, she's just never had the patience to sit and paint anything although she tried many times when she was younger.
Although she no longer lives with her parents she send them letters often, usually receiving parcels in the post from them filled with an assortment of your favourite foods and a gift from her parents travels. They saved up money all through their lives and now that they are retired they use it to go on trips to other countries and, even though Marietta is always slightly jealous, she currently has no plans to leave the little island of Tully.

lucy. 18. 5 years. pm/email.There was something distinctly disturbing about silence, Marietta decided. As someone who operated best in silence and used the shadows as cover, she was well aware of how people could hide themselves away. It wasn't that she was paranoid per say, she was just all too aware of what silence could mean and, at this school, when it was silent there was usually something wrong. Of course that wasn't the case here, instead it was just because she was in the library and, as incredibly creepy as she found it, she was in need of a book and had little time right now to go try and find it in a shop. She didn't really read, not having much patience to sit quietly for long periods of time, but she'd promised her mother she would at least attempt to read The Wind in the Willows. Marietta had a feeling she was going to end up regretting it.
Having little idea of where to look, Marietta just browsed the bookshelves, assuming she'd come across it sooner or later. Hearing a quiet thump, she looked up from the books to see Indigo climbing up the bookcase and knocking off books as he went. "Indigo be careful!" Marietta hissed, picking up the fallen books and placing them back on the bookshelf. I'm always careful, Mary, he replied innocently, looking down at her from where he was no perched on top of the bookcase. Sighing, Marietta glanced at Indigo, annoyed, before moving to another bookcase to continue her search. Indigo followed, jumping from the top of one bookcase to the next, much to Marietta's annoyance. "Would you get down from there," she said, hands on hips as she looked at the little monkey who shook his head. I like it up here, he replied stubbornly. Mary scowled, hoping he wouldn't knock anything else over as she once again began looking for the book.
